Disney's Tinkerbell & The Pirate Fairy - Film Review!

The Film!

It's Tinkerbell!! and she's back again for the 5th installment of her adventures!

This one evolves around the inquisitive fairy dust keeper Zarina. Bless her, she asks so many questions and manages to get herself fired!

Basically she goes off and joins up (and commands!) her own band of Pirates! She then steals the very important Blue fairy dust and uses it to create her own fairy dust tower (from which all fairy's get their fairy dust from!).

We get to see a very different side of a young James Hook and also see the innocent beginnings of the "Ticking Croc"!

This film really did have it all - all the fun of the fairies loosing their own talents (e.g. Tinkerbell is a Tinker/Techie, Iridessa is a Sun fairy etc.) - Swashbuckling with the Pirates - "I am not a CODFISH!!!".

Now most people think that because it's Tinkerbell this film would really only suit the females, WRONG! it has Pirates in it silly!! So appeals to the boys too!

Being a fan of the whole Peter Pan thing, I really did enjoy this film, it kept all entertained and captivated throughout. It really was clever; some of the tie-ins, i.e. why Hook is so hating of fairies and how the Croc came to have a clock in his belly. The baby Croc was so cute! I foresee Disney releasing him as a plush toy with ticking clock sound, I'd be buying one of those! AHEM!, anyway.. All good stuff!

Keeping in line with all the Disney movies, this is very colourful and fun loving. There is a cheery feelgood soundtrack which is sung by Gretel Kea Ashzinger - She was in the Disney Channel television series "Good Luck Charlie" as a friend of "Teddy".

Croc-The Pirate Fairy

What the boy thought?

Always a good sign, was my Son not talking and sitting still while the film was on. There are a few funny moments surrounding the 'misplacing' of talents (you need to watch it to know what this means!), and also the Croc made my Son burst out with laughter a few times.

The Verdict?!
Do I really have to spell it out for you? If you're a fan of Peter Pan or the Tinkerbell series, then you need to watch this film! It's like a mini prequel to Peter Pan!! Do it! It makes sense!

Tinkerbell & The Pirate Fairy will be released on 14th February at your local Cinema!!!
