Rory's Story Cubes! STOCKING FILLER ALERT!

They're not Rory's, they're mine!! Ok, so they ARE Rory's, but I get to play with them!

What are they?

They are essentially 9 dice sized cubes which have pictures on every side. The aim of the "game" is to roll them all at once or one at a time and using imagination, to put together a story or characters FOR a story.

These really are clever, a great way to get your child using their vocabulary and imagination! My Son absolutely loved playing with these, he thought they were hilarious! all the silly and captivating stories we could make up. We also got Nanny and Grandad involved, however my Son was not amused with his Grandad after being told a very short and boring story stated, "Nanny, Grandad made up this story", he then repeated the story and ended with, "Wasn't that BORING!"

The pictures on the cubes are great; you get some good ideas from them and can also use them for double meanings e.g. a picture of fire, could double as an upside down ghost! A crescent moon (in the above picture) can also be used as a smile! You get the idea.

We are having so much fun with these, my Son ended up playing on his own for a while too, just sitting there and telling himself stories, giggling away to himself! Definitely thinking of getting some of the Dinosaur ones!! :

Add-on's available are; Actions, Clues, Voyages, Enchanted and Prehistoria. If you do want the bigger size, these are available too!

The Verdict:

My only gripe is that they are a little small, however with the average players being children, I can appreciate why they are this size. A good point of the smallness however, means they are VERY good for taking on holidays abroad (for boring moments around the pool) and camping (for the wet days).

How much?:

The RRP on the cubes reviewed are £9.99 which I think is bang on!
The RRP of the Voyages and Actions packs above are £9.99.
The RRP of the smaller packs is £3.99 each.
The RRP of the Double size original set is £19.99.
