So, Christmas is all over for another year! It went so fast!!
What is it?
For those of you that don't know, Gorgan is the main baddie from the film 'Walking with dinosaurs The Movie - 3D'. I've not had the pleasure of watching this film yet but it looks fantastic!
Ultimate as this is referred to, is so due to it's real dino feel skin (not sure how they found out what real dino skin feels like, but it does feel reptilian so I guess that's enough!). It also has a fair few different sounds,these are very cool indeed! So loud, but not tinny or muffled like so many other toys with sound.
This stands around 7-8 inches tall and the detail is brilliant! It's also known as"Ultimate" because of the 14 points of articulation - also very cool unless you have a kid who like wrenching at figures arms and legs, then you're in trouble.
After un-boxing, I found the articulated parts to be quite stiff and difficult to move. I thought to myself "little one can't play properly if it's all unmovable!" So I started moving all the bits which could. Unfortunately, with just a little force I managed to pull his leg off! No worries though, it went back on fine. Once I was done I tried to stand him up in a menacing pose, this didn't work. Due to my moving all the parts the Gorgan in a few places were quite loose! I was a little disappointed as now he falls over 2/5 times I try to stand him up! Grrr...
What the boy thought?
I arranged the Ultimate Gorgan on my Son's little table and you should have seen his little face light up when he entered the room and saw it! To my Son, Dinosaurs are the best thing in the world, so he was extremely happy to see this! My Son says he loves the sounds and how scary Gorgan looks. The loose parts of Gorgan didn't phase him at all, he was still stomping around with the toy as soon as he was unhitched from the box! My Son thoroughly enjoyed playing with Gorgan so I'm glad i got him!
The Verdict
I did really like this dino, he would be a brilliant addition to any dinosaur model collector, he's so detailed he's unreal!!! As above my Son loved playing with him too! Just a little annoyed about the looseness of the parts. You can put Gorgan into LOTS of poses though so you win some, you loose some.. The long and short of it is, if your little ones love dinosaurs, this is the one for you!
